hi y’all !
so july 1st was one month post big chop for me *woohoo!* and this post is also the first of many month by month posts that I will be creating the document my fourth big chop in a more in depth way. So with that said here we go!
im super happy to say that i have been noticing my hair density becoming thicker and its becoming much softer and my hair texture is becoming much more visible.my hair is also holding on to much more moisture, which i thought was impossible to achieve without the use of a petroleum based product. but apparently all i needed was gel and a good light leave in haha.
hair challenges that ive experienced
so far, i havent had too many challenges as of yet. i had a bit of hard water buildup, but i was able to nip that in the bud with some good ole club soda. (i will share more in the upcoming post). after chelating with the club soda, my hair was more receptive to absorbing moisture.
hair styles that i did this month
for the most part ive been rocking wash and gos, some define and gos, and i did some finger coils this month (woohoo!) unfortunately i forgot the pics (boooo!!). but i will be revisiting them again sometime this month.
hairstyles that i want to try in the upcoming month
- finger coils
- twistout (possibly!)
- a slicked twa (uhh, still thinking about this one, but i want to try it while im in the twa stage)
- front: 2 1/4 inches
- right side: 2 1/4 inches
- left side: 2 1/2 inches
- nape: 2 1/4 inches
- crown: 3 1/4 inches
- back : 2 1/2 inches
goals for month two
- to have complete hydration within my strands
- to gain at least 1/4 inch in length
- to be successful in the hairstyles that i attempt
so thats about it guys! how is your natural journey going and should i take a leap of faith and try the slicked down twa?? let me know below!
